Customer Reviews:

Pictures don’t do this product justice.5
This bag is well made, good-looking, and hangs well over your shoulder and across your torso. It is a bit too large for the smaller, fixed-lens DSLRs, but if you need something to carry just your larger DSLR with a decent lens on it, this is probably your best bet. It’s still nice for a smaller camera and a few of its’ accessories, but check out some other bags from Kata like the DC-431 or DC-433 if you’d like a none holster style bag, with the same great padding and style.

When you don’t want to carry your big camera bag!!5
I’ve got a great bag that carries all my camera gear, but sometimes I just wanted something small that would hold just the basics…. I’ve found it after tossing many other similar bags! This bag is handy, protects my gear, is durable, attractive and worth every dime. FYI the strap is not pictured and it is very nice as well. This bag will hold most camera bodies and small to medium lens. This would also work if you are using a high end point and shoot (i.e. panasonic lumix fz28) Ease of use for quickly grabbing my camera with minimum fuss is so appreciated. I do recommend this bag.

Great Case5
I bought this case for my Nikon D90 with 16-85mm VRII lens. I love it. I was so tired of carrying a boat anchor of a case with all my crap in it and having aching shoulders that I ended up not taking the camera with me many times. This case holds the D90 with the affore-mentioned lens with the lens hood mounted backwards, a lens cloth, an extra memory card and extra battery. Everything I need. If I want to also take my 70-300 zoom I carry that in a strapped lens case, but usually it is just the Kata. It is really well padded and protects the camera really well. Love the orange interior – why don’t all case makers do this. Easy to find all the black items that might fall in there. Get it, you won’t be disappointed.

Always bought a competitor’s blank media, but took a chance on this product and it’s a WINNER. Excellent product at an economical price. Dual (or double) layer DVD recordable media is getting harder to find in the stores – at least a good brand is anyway. Picture and audio clarity are excellent and is just as good, if not, better than the more expensive Dual Layer recordables. Don’t waste money on other name brands that give you less quantity for the same price or more. This product was purchased from an outside vendor thru Amazon. Shipping was clean and prompt. Would definitely buy again !

These TDKs are solid media for recording all of your games, movies and data. I have yet to have a coaster and have been using these for some time. highly recommended.

A very clever digital frame5
I’ve had this for a couple of days now and have to say that Kodak really has a winner on its hands with the Pulse. Kodak has solved the “last mile” problem with photo frames by creating such an easy way to get photos onto the Pulse. After receiving it you create an email address at [...] and simply email photos to that address. It takes about three minutes from emailing a photo to the Pulse to when it shows up on it. Let your friends and family know the email address and they can send photos to it too.

Setting up the Pulse is easy and takes about 10 minutes from unboxing it to displaying photos on it. The frame first connects to the internet via your WiFi and then displays an activiation code. You then go to [...] and create a user account and email address by keying in this activation code. After that you can start emailing photos to your new email account. In addition you can also have it display photos from your facebook or Kodak Gallery accounts.

The Pulse has worked great for me with both photos emailed to it and from a facebook account. It has all the usual slots in the back so you can run a slideshow off a flashcard too. A nice feature of the Pulse is that you can sort the photos displayed on it based on who emailed them to you. Tapping on a photo shows who sent it, when it was sent and the subject line of the email when it was sent to you.

My one concern with the Pulse is with wireless connectivity. Where we originally wanted to put the Pulse our computers, cellphones, etc., easily get WiFi coverage but for some reason the Pulse can’t. We moved it across the room and it got coverage but it’s strange that it had a problem when other devices didn’t. Other than that, however, the frame has been perfect.

I originally bought this for my mom so all her kids and grandkids can email her photos without her having to be at a computer to view them. But I like it so much I’ve decided to keep it for myself and buy her another. One surprise is that there isn’t a simple way to print the photos from the Pulse. It would be great if you could select one or more pictures and have them sent to Kodak Gallery or some other online site and have them printed. Perphaps they’ll add this feature in a future software update.

I’m very pleased with the Pulse and recommend anyone thinking about a digital photo frame seriously consider it. Good job, Kodak.

finally, a photo frame for grandparents5
I’ve been looking for a photo frame that I can give to my parents, who don’t get to see my kids often. I wanted one that allows me to update pictures remotely, and doesn’t require any technical knowledge on their part. I tried a few WiFi-capable units: Toshiba (wide-screen ratio, a mistake), Viewsonic (doesn’t auto-play when turned on), and Pixstar (seems nice, but $230?). Finally, Amazon emailed me about the new Kodak Pulse, which at the time got three 5-star reviews. Well, what the heck, I decided to buy it and try it out for myself.

Pros:
- Very nice, clear LCD display. It appears to be higher res than other frame. Maybe it’s because it is only 7″, yet 800×600 pixels. Maybe the LED backlight helps too. The colors also seem richer on this frame.
- Small frame border. Some frames have a ridiculously large border, which takes focus away from the pictures.
- Once configured, zero-configuration needed to use. Perfect for non-technical viewers.
- Impressive web management tools, with many settings.
- No remote! Yes, this is a feature! Since it has web management, there is no remote control to lose. And photo navigation is done thru touch screen.
- Simple, elegant design. The frame is also pretty thin.
- Collage mode, where individual pictures in the collage update in sequence.
- Energy save mode, where you can set times when frame is on. Also can turn on frame when new pictures are received.
- Touch screen interface, for simple management and flipping through photos (you can disable touch screen interface).
- Email upload. This is very convenient, especially from phone.

Cons:
- Management must be made thru Kodak website. What if Kodak website is down, or decides not to support product anymore?
- On first use, it automatically upgraded firmware, which is fine. However, it wiped out my WiFi settings so I had to re-enter it.
- Wished it was offered in larger screen size, which would be nicer for collage mode.
- Security. If you enable upload by email option, anyone who knows the email address can send pictures to the frame. Last thing I want is spam or inappropriate photos on my frame. They should allow you to restrict who can send photos to the frame.

So far I’m very impressed by this photo frame. Never thought of Kodak as a high-tech company, but I guess they know a thing or two about displaying pictures. I think it makes for a great gift that will keep on giving.

A clever Wi-Fi enabled frame, but it has its limitations.4
The Kodak Pulse digital frame is a nicely designed Wi-Fi enabled frame that you manage through a website. It’s an excellent frame for the most part but there are some things I wasn’t fond of.

Design wise it is a nice looking frame with a glossy black front and a chrome strip running around the edge. It reminds a lot of the iPhone aesthetic. I especially like the fact that the Kodak logo on the front of the frame is very subtle. On the back of the frame is a door that covers the memory card / USB jump drive slots, a power button, and a status check button. The frame is primarily controlled via its touch screen and the Kodak Pulse website. The touch screen itself is very nicely done. It’s quite accurate and responds to the first touch most of the time. You can swipe your finger across the screen to flick through the photos like an iPhone too. While the frame is light in weight the built quality is nice and it feels solid. To store your photos there is 512MB of internal memory, and my 2,510 photos are using 56% of the available memory.

Once you take your frame out of the box and plug it in it prompts you to enter your Wi-Fi information. The process is simple and it walks you through step-by-step. I was able to connect it to both a NETGEAR and Apple Airport router without problems. Both routers have a hidden SSID and WPA2 security. Once you have successfully connected the frame to your network, you are provided an activation number, and are directed to the frame’s website.

You add pictures via several methods; 1) directly from your computer via the website, 2) from a memory card and/or USB jump drive, 3) from your Facebook and/or Kodak Gallery accounts, 4) from a custom e-mail address just for the frame.

I added photos to the frame from the website and it was a simple process (I am using a Mac running Snow Leopard and used the Safari browser). I had some friends e-mail photos to the frame and everything came through fine as well. Lastly, I accessed my Kodak Gallery photos, and the process was simple and worked well. The website also allows you to view all the pictures on the frame and delete some as needed. Being able to manage the frame this way is very convenient, and it is what makes this Kodak frame special. It’s very nice to be able to manage your frame’s photos remotely. This makes it an ideal frame to give to people who do not live close by and/or are not tech friendly because you can manage the frame for them remotely. (see my included photos for screenshots of the website)

Not only can you manage the pictures through the website, but also you can change the frame’s settings. You can adjust the picture display duration and transition effect, how the pictures fit the frame, and whether one picture or a collage is displayed. Lastly, you can set times for the frame to automatically turn on and off.

The frame’s picture quality is very high. The photos are sharp, the colors are vivid and true, and the viewing angle is good. The frame’s resolution of 800 x 600 allows you to view the photos up close without the pictures looking pixilated. Additionally, the frame’s 4:3 screen-ratio is much better than widescreen frames, since 99% of photos are not taken at a 16:9 ratio. Thus, your photos are not cropped as much. The only picture quality issue is some light leakage from the bottom. Basically when you are close to the frame, and it is displaying a dark photograph, the bottom edge looks brighter.

The only negatives I have are as follows: 1) The settings for the frame are very limited, you can only choose from 3, 10, and 30 second picture display durations. There is a smart setting that starts out fast and slows down to 30 minutes a photo, but I find all these choices either too fast or too slow. A Philips’ frame I had allowed for much more flexibility in this area. 2) There is no separate schedule to turn the frame on and off for the weekend. Again, the Philips’ frame had an automatic schedule for both the weekdays and the weekend. Moreover, you can’t change the frame’s schedule through the frame itself, it has to be done via the website. 3) If a photo is in portrait orientation there are just black bars placed on both sides of it. Some frames will tile portrait photos to eliminate this problem. 4) There is no adjustment for the frame’s screen brightness. 5) Lastly, the frame cannot do a slideshow of both the memory card photos and online photos together. It would be nice if you could so you could supplement the frame’s memory using a card. I am hoping that Kodak can fix some of these issues by updating the website, or the frame’s software, since it is Wi-Fi enabled.

All in all… a very nicely done Wi-Fi frame, with good photo quality, and a well designed website.

P.S. Sorry for the long review, but there is a lot to cover. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment and I will respond promptly.

3/27/2010 Update – Some of my photos had quotes in the titles and they did not upload even though the website said they did. Make sure your photos don’t have quotation marks anywhere in the title.

4/6/2010 Update – So I’ve recently run into a problem with the frame. I tried uploading some more photos I recently took. 59 to be exact, and it keeps getting stuck after it uploads a handful of them. All the photos show up in the online gallery, but the frame keeps trying to download the remaining pictures and nothing happens, I’ve waited days even. I deleted those pictures and tired them again with no luck. Then, I deleted all the photos off the frame except for the e-mailed ones and it got stuck again. I had to resort to uploading all the photos via memory card. I’ve added some additional photos via the online gallery after I uploaded all the older ones and they came through fine. Hopefully it will not get “clogged” again. I still like the frame overall and think it’s neat. I’m hoping this was a one-time issue. The problem has not re-appeared as of 4/19/2010.

4/11/2010 Update – To reset the frame and erase all its photos and setting you can click both the Power and Status buttons on the back. Be aware though that any photos that have been e-mailed to your frame will be deleted as well. Also, I’ve found that if you add photos via the website, when you display the photo’s information on the frame it shows the upload date, but if you add them to the frame via memory card it shows the date it was taken.

4/19/2010 update – Last night the frame prompted me to download a new firmware update. Very nice.

Great match-up with the Sigma 70-200, f2.8 that gives you a 100-300, f4 zoom5
Optically outstanding when combined with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG. This new Sigma EX DG lens and converter is super sharp and great color that stacks up to the famed Canon L series at about 60% of the cost. I see incredible clarity at 800% magnification doing touch ups in Photoshop.

I’ve used both and wouldn’t hesitate a second buying the Sigma DG series again.

Advanced amateur who loves Canon.

Excellent add on5
For the past year I have used mine on a regular basis with my Sigma 150 macro lens. This creates a 210 F4 macro that is amazing. It is not possible to tell, by looking at the pictures, which were taken with or without this TC. Buying this gives you a second lens of equal quality for a little bit of money.

Works Well – Not much of a hit on image quality5
I have used this with a Sigma 150-500mm lens. Since the Sigma lens is relatively slow I lose autofocus — but shots I haven’t had this long but shots that I have taken of squirrels and birds in the back yard remain sharp. This is a good purchase for those with compatible Sigma lenses looking for more reach.

Customer Reviews:

A digital slr that influences creative photography5
I have had the E330 for about 1 month now and couldn’t be happier. I looked very closely at the Canon 30D, the Nikon D50 and the Olympus E500. I am really happy I went with the E330. While there is no such thing as a perfect camera, I have found that this one in particular fits my needs and caters to my more creative side with the live view articulated view finder. The Live A and B modes really open a lot of doors that other cameras in its class do not allow. Although it does’t look as traditional as the others, the style had grown on me. I opted to get the body only so that I could upgrade the lens to a 14-54mm Zukio which is a wonderful all around lens. I find that the camera feels very good in my hands, although the D50 also had a great feel to it. It is very responsive and handles most situations well. I like to do street photography and the live view articulating lens allows for the taking of pictures without being too obvious. The low light performance is pretty good compared to the other olympus digital SLR with its new sensor, but is still not as good as either the 30D or the D50. This may change however when Lecia releases its 4/3rds mount image stabilized lens which is supposed to be compatible with the Olympus lineup. While I am new to digital SLRs, I consider myself to be a photography enthusiast. I started out with a Sony S85 which was a wonderful camera in many ways, but I have to say I am having a wonderful time learning about a whole new realm of photography with the E330. I highly recommend a good look at this camera if you are looking to get into digital SLRs as it serves not only as a nice crossover camera, but as a midline intermediate SLR that will keep you wanting to get even more creative with your photographic hobby.

Best Camera I have ever owned5
With about 30 years of picture taking experience and many pro shoots behind me I went shopping for a new DSLR. I wanted one to serve as an all-around pal and be loaded with pro features that I am accustomed to using. When this camera hit the market I knew I had to try one on for size…especially since no other DSLR has live LCD compositing of frames.

All I can say is this camera has put all of my other 6 cameras in the closet (three of them were film.) Sharp images, easy composition in a giant, bright 2 1/2 LCD screen and ease of use won me over. If you want a simple interface with outstanding pictures you can have it here. If you want the touch of manual adjustment and light handling, ditto.

It is the best camera, all around, that I have ever used or owned. And now the prices are coming down! So what’s stopping you?

Live view feature is well worth the extra!!5
This is my first digital reflex. I had also looked at the canon 350xt, nikon d50/70, sony R1, but made the choice based on the unique Live View feature and image quality. No other dslr lets you frame using the lcd screen, which I find really useful in lots of shooting situations. The image quality is superb, easily outresolving my previous sony 828, with much faster autofocus and low noise. The colors just pop out of the screen. I can send my pics directly to print without doing any post processing.
I had almost decided on the Sony R1, but it wasn?t as flexible (lacked an optical viewfinder and ability to change lenses)To me is the best of both worlds, digicams (rotating lcd, live framing) and dsrls (optical viewfinder, AF speed, low noise, lenses)
Highly recommended!

From the Manufacturer
Since the introduction of the first single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, photographers have prized SLRs because they can see with the naked eye, through an optical viewfinder, exactly what is passing through the camera’s lens. The “reflex” of a mirrored shutter that bends light to the camera’s viewfinder, and then snaps open rapidly to create exposures, makes this possible and gives the SLR its advantage. But this SLR advantage, while delivering high-performance speed and accuracy, has one drawback in the digital age. Because the image sensor is blocked by the mirror and shutter until the moment the shutter button is pressed, the mirror and shutter mechanism prevents a traditional digital SLR from viewing and composing a photo using only the camera’s Liquid Crystal Display as a viewfinder.

As anyone who has used a compact digital camera knows, composing a photo just by viewing the camera’s LCD is easy and commonplace, and many compact cameras do not even offer an optical viewfinder. Composing on an LCD has its own advantages, and Olympus engineers asked the question: How can we design a new digital SLR that delivers not only the traditional through-the-lens optical viewfinder experience of an SLR, but also adds the ability to frame photos with an LCD like a compact camera?

Olympus Evolt E330
The E330′s articulated LCD screen. The E330 is also the first DSLR to feature Live View, which allows real-time composition on the LCD screen.

The solution to this technical challenge is the revolutionary Olympus Evolt E-330 digital SLR–the world’s first interchangeable lens digital SLR to feature a true “Live View” image on the LCD screen, in addition to the optical viewfinder, and unite the best of both worlds.

Live View is Designed to Do More
Users of the Evolt E-330 will quickly realize that when composing an image on the LCD, they can do more with this camera than they could with comparable SLRs without Live View. Because the camera’s LCD is “articulated,” it can extend out from the camera body and swivel downward or upward so the E-330 can be held overhead to shoot over a crowd, held at the hip, or even placed on the ground–something that’s not possible with a traditional SLR that relies on an optical viewfinder alone. Whether shooting from a low angle for dramatic composition or in close for detailed macro photos, with the exclusive Olympus Live View LCD photographers can follow action easily and capture just the right moment with greater creative control.

Olympus Evolt E330
The E-330′s 2.5-inch high-resolution HyperCrystal LCD offers many times the contrast of conventional LCD monitors.

Large Live View 2.5-Inch HyperCrystal LCD Monitor
Big and bright with 215,250 pixels, the E-330′s 2.5-inch high-resolution HyperCrystal LCD offers many times the contrast of conventional LCD monitors, so captured images can be beautifully displayed in vivid color on the screen with exceptional clarity. Because photos are for sharing, the E-330 LCD features a wide, 160-degree viewing angle on the vertical and horizontal axis, ensuring excellent visibility and beautiful image quality even when everyone huddles around the camera to see what you’ve created. The larger LCD also means the icons and text on the camera’s menu display are large enough for easy viewing.

A New Live MOS 7.5-Megapixel Image Sensor
The excellent image quality of the Olympus E-System takes a giant step forward with the Evolt E-330. Newly developed specifically for this camera, the 7.5-megapixel Live MOS image sensor, with its high dynamic range, captures photos with accurate true colors, detail from edge to edge, and lower noise–bringing home all the benefits of Live View and the E-System.

Patented Dust-Reduction System for Spot-Free Photos
Dust is all around us, and when swapping out a lens on a digital single-lens reflex camera, there’s a chance that a camera’s electrostatically charged image sensor will attract microdust that can ruin photos. Since the main advantage of using an SLR camera is the ability to change lenses for better imaging effects, Olympus has developed a way for photographers to enjoy the freedom of using all the lenses of the Olympus E-System in the most challenging, dusty environments without compromising image quality.

Olympus’s Dust Reduction System produces spot-free photos with the exclusive Supersonic Wave Filter, a patented ultrasonic technology that shakes at 35,000 vibrations a second to remove dust from in front of the camera sensor every time you turn the camera on, then captures the dust to prevent it from reappearing. These spot-free photos liberate users from hours spent retouching images at the computer. The new Evolt E-330, like all Olympus digital SLR cameras, is equipped with this exclusive user-friendly technology, and only Olympus has a solution to provide spot-free photography in a digital SLR.

Olympus Evolt E330
The E330 features both a built-in flash and a hot-shoe connector for external flashes and other accessories.

Digital-Specific Zuiko Lenses
Olympus offers the largest selection of lenses designed for digital excellence, and they’re all fully compatible with the E-330. Since each lens is perfectly matched to the camera’s image sensor, light is received by each pixel. As a result, images are brighter, more colorful, and super-sharp from edge to edge.

The E-330 outfit includes a compact, Zuiko Digital 14 to 45mm f3.5 to f5.6 lens (equivalent to 28mm to 90mm in 35mm photography) that perfectly matches the imager so light strikes the sensor directly to ensure rich, accurate colors and edge-to-edge sharpness. Its 3.2x zoom covers the range most frequently used in ordinary photography and weighs just 10 ounces (285 grams) offering users an extremely dynamic, portable everyday-use zoom. Close-ups as near as 15 inches (38 centimeters) are possible throughout the zoom range.

Olympus Evolt E330
The flat-top body design of the E330 makes it a remarkably compact DSLR.

Ergonomic Flat-Top Body Design
The E-330 camera body is lightweight with a smart design that fits naturally in your hand with a full-sized grip, and it’s light and compact enough to comfortably shoot with all day. In place of the traditional pentaprism design, the camera incorporates the exclusive Olympus TTL Optical Porro Finder coupled with an exclusive side-swing mirror that gives the camera its unique “flat-top” appearance and makes it more compact for greater portability. This design also enables the camera’s full-time Live View capabilities.

TruePic TURBO for Clarity and Speed
Olympus’s TruePic TURBO Image Processor provides fast camera response, operation and processing speed for more responsive camera operation. This is done by closely integrating the image processor and hardware elements to eliminate unnecessary processing tasks, accelerating camera operations.

Along with the speed advantages, TruePic TURBO also produces crystal-clear photos using all the pixel information for each image to provide you with the best digital images possible for every photo.

Olympus Evolt E330
The E330′s optional underwater housing. (Not included.)

PT-E02 Underwater Housing (Not Included)
The PT-E02 Underwater Housing for E-330s enables users to enjoy underwater SLR shooting. Easy to set up, it offers waterproof protection up to a depth of over 196 feet (60 meters). The Live View LCD is ideal for underwater photography because it’s much easier to compose on the Evolt E-330′s large, bright LCD when underwater than to use the optical viewfinder. And, with three scene select modes for underwater wide, underwater macro, and underwater wide-angle auto exposures, the E-330 is designed to perform optimally in the deep. (PT-E02 Underwater Housing is not included with this kit and much be purchased separately.)

Customer Reviews:

The Sony LCSBBA is a light duty case3
This is a very basic light duty soft case and it will accommodate any of the small Sony camcorders. It will save your camcorder fron getting scratched or from slight bumps. It offers no protection against drops or hard hits, since it has almost no padding. It is also bulky, but on the positive side it fits my Sony HDR-CX12 sitting on top of the docking station, cables and a spare battery. This case is just a zippered box with no additional compartments.

A little bigger than I had intended3
This case was quite a bit bigger than what I had imagined. I have a very small camera and this case is way too big. It doesn’t allow me to throw it into my purse – too bulky. Probably nothing wrong with the case itself, just wasn’t what I was looking for.

light duty review spot on3
It’s a bit larger than expected and no compartments. Disappointed at the lack of padding but it’s just an organizational case and nothing more. I would not purchase this product again.

Customer Reviews:

Solved the lens protector falling off4
Just got the armor and had the same problem with a number of people in that the lens protector would fall off. 18 – 55 mmf lens, D60

Here is what I discovered. I put the lens protector on backwards, then turned it inside out. Now it stays on.

Must have item! Lens armor requires some patience, but works well on my 18-200 VR lens5
I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Camera Armor. It not only is well designed and protective, it gives full access to all the controls with almost no loss of feel or function.

The sole exception is the dial near the shutter release, which is a bit more difficult to access, but that is a very minor quibble, and well worth the protection for your delicate camera!

The Lens Armor (which is included in the Camera Armor package, and available separately as well) requires a lot of patience, but once it is on the lens properly, it stays put nicely on my 18-200mm VR Nikkor lens (72mm lens opening). I believe the problem “SCOTTGUNN” writes about is because he probably had the much smaller 18-55mm VR lens (with a 52mm lens opening) that comes in the D60 kit. The Lens Armor documentation says it will fit on any lens with a 48-77mm lens opening, but I found that while it took me a while to get it on the larger lens, it was very easy to pop off the smaller one.

Once the Lens Armor was seated properly, it stayed on, and offered protection (and sunshade) just as I’d hoped!

Camera Armor just might be the most valuable item you can find for your DSLR under $50.

Doesn’t all fit the Nikon D603
The protector that covers the body is great. It fits perfect, follows every line of the camera like it should and is fitted perfectly.

The lens protector, however, does not fit/stay on the lens. I can get it on the end of the lens, but there is only a tiny portion of the protector that is holding onto the very end of the lens and it falls of with any movement.

It is worth the price to protect the body though, in my opinion
